Documents Required

Mandatory Documents

Visa Application

• Completed and signed Schengen visa application form
• One recent passport-size photograph (not older than 6 months, clear and with a light background)
• Original passport and copy (issued within the past 10 years, valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended stay, and with 2 blank pages)

UK Residency

• UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code
• Must be valid for at least 1 month after exiting the Schengen area

Relationship Documents

If You Are the Spouse of an EU/Swiss/EEA National

• Copy and original passport of the EU/Swiss/EEA spouse
• Marriage certificate (original, notarised, and dated within 6 months)
  • Notarisation is not required for Swiss-issued certificates
• Certified translation if the certificate is not in English, German, French, Italian, or Spanish

If You Are a Dependant of an EU/Swiss/EEA National

• Copy and original passport of both parties
• Birth certificate or other valid proof of relationship (original and copy)
• Letter signed and dated confirming dependency and shared residence
• Certified translation if any document is not in English, German, French, Italian, or Spanish

Travel Arrangements

(Not applicable to Swiss spouses or dependants)

• Hotel booking in applicant’s name with confirmation
• Package tour confirmation with proof of payment (if applicable)
• Transport tickets with applicant’s name (flight, train, ferry)
• Return or onward travel confirmation
• If travelling across multiple Schengen countries, provide transport and accommodation for the full stay

For Minor Applicants (if applicable)

• Visa application form signed by both parents
• Original birth certificate
• Recent British school certificate
• If travelling alone or with one parent:
  • Copies of both parents’ passports
  • Signed parental consent letter (original or certified)
• If sole custody applies:
  • Supporting documents such as birth certificate with one parent listed, death certificate, or court order
• All non-English documents must be translated into German, French, Italian, or English

Photo Specifications

• Must be recent (within 6 months)
• Size: 35–40 mm wide with face covering 70–80% of the image
• Sharp, clear, and in focus, with no marks, creases, or blurring
• Printed on high-quality photo paper (digital prints accepted if high resolution)

Style and Lighting

• Neutral expression, mouth closed, eyes open, and looking directly at the camera
• Taken against a plain, light-coloured background with no shadows or reflections
• Natural skin tones with balanced brightness and contrast

Glasses and Head Coverings

• Glasses: no tinted lenses or flash reflections; frames must not cover eyes
• Head coverings allowed only for religious reasons, but the full face must be visible

If the submitted photograph does not meet these specifications, the application will be deemed incomplete and the applicant will be required to provide a compliant photo before the application can proceed.
