Documents Required

Visa Application Form

• One completed and signed Schengen visa application form.

Photograph

• One recent passport-size photograph (not older than 6 months, clear and light background).

Passport

• Original passport and copy (all pages with visas/stamps).
• Issued within the last 10 years.
• Valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned return from Switzerland.
• Minimum of two blank pages.

UK Residency

• Provide a UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code.
• Must be valid for at least one month beyond your intended departure from the Schengen area.

Academic Documents

• Letter of acceptance from the Swiss educational institution clearly stating course duration and nature.
• Proof of course registration or tuition fee payment (receipt or official letter from the institution).
• Letter of motivation explaining the purpose and academic relevance of the short course.
• Curriculum Vitae (CV).

Proof of Finance

• Bank statements (last 3 months) clearly showing sufficient balance to cover the duration of your stay.
  • As a guideline, CHF 21,000/year is required for full-time study, so for 90 days, you should demonstrate proportional means (approx. CHF 5,250).
• If funded by a third party or institution:
  • Sponsor’s bank statements
  • Sponsorship declaration
  • Proof of relationship with the sponsor (if applicable)

Proof of Travel

• Confirmed return flight reservation from Switzerland.
• Full travel itinerary if multiple Schengen countries are involved.

Proof of Accommodation

• Hotel reservation or lease agreement covering the full duration of stay.
• If accommodation is provided by the institution, an official confirmation letter must be submitted.

Travel Insurance

• Must be issued by a UK or Schengen-based provider.
• Must include:
  • Full name and date of birth
  • Schengen-wide coverage
  • Minimum coverage of €30,000 for medical emergencies and repatriation
  • Coverage must span the entire duration of the stay

For Minors (if applicable)

• Visa application form signed by both parents or legal guardians
• Birth certificate
• Parental consent letter (notarised) if the minor is travelling alone or with one parent
• Copies of both parents’ passports

Photo Specifications

• Must be recent (within 6 months)
• Size: 35–40 mm wide with face covering 70–80% of the image
• Sharp, clear, and in focus, with no marks, creases, or blurring
• Printed on high-quality photo paper (digital prints accepted if high resolution)

Style and Lighting

• Neutral expression, mouth closed, eyes open, and looking directly at the camera
• Taken against a plain, light-coloured background with no shadows or reflections
• Natural skin tones with balanced brightness and contrast

Glasses and Head Coverings

• Glasses: no tinted lenses or flash reflections; frames must not cover eyes
• Head coverings allowed only for religious reasons, but the full face must be visible

If the submitted photograph does not meet these specifications, the application will be deemed incomplete and the applicant will be required to provide a compliant photo before the application can proceed.
