Documents Required

Visa Application Form

• One completed and signed Schengen visa application form.

Photograph

• One recent passport-size photograph with a light background (not older than 6 months).

Passport

• Original passport and copy (including stamped pages).
• Issued within the last 10 years.
• Valid for at least 3 months beyond the return date.
• Must contain two blank pages.

UK Residency

• Provide a UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code.
• Must be valid for at least one month beyond your intended Schengen departure date.

Event Participation Documents

• Official invitation or participation confirmation from the organiser in Switzerland.
  • Should mention event dates, venue, applicant’s role (participant/speaker/performer/athlete).
• Event schedule or brochure indicating applicant’s involvement.
• No-objection letter from UK-based sponsor (if applicable), confirming purpose and leave of absence.
• For group delegations: collective itinerary and list of participants on organisation letterhead.

Proof of Finance

• Recent bank statements (last 3 months) clearly showing the ability to fund your trip.
• CHF 100 per day is the general financial threshold.
• If costs are covered by the organiser or sponsor:
  • Sponsorship letter
  • Proof of accommodation and paid transport
  • Financial documents of the sponsor (if private)

Proof of Travel

• Confirmed flight or transport reservation showing return to the UK.
• If the applicant plans to transit through another Schengen state, transport bookings for that route.

Proof of Accommodation

• Hotel reservation or official accommodation confirmation from the event organiser.
• If staying with a host: invitation letter and host’s passport/residence card copy.

Travel Insurance

• Must be from a UK or Schengen-based provider.
• Must cover the entire Schengen region.
• Minimum cover of €30,000 for emergency medical and repatriation expenses.
• Must mention: applicant’s full name, coverage dates, policy limits, and insurer details.

For Minors (if applicable)

• Visa form signed by both parents.
• Birth certificate
• Parental consent letter (notarised) if the minor is travelling alone or with one parent.
• Passport copies of both parents or guardians.

Photo Specifications

• Must be recent (within 6 months)
• Size: 35–40 mm wide with face covering 70–80% of the image
• Sharp, clear, and in focus, with no marks, creases, or blurring
• Printed on high-quality photo paper (digital prints accepted if high resolution)

Style and Lighting

• Neutral expression, mouth closed, eyes open, and looking directly at the camera
• Taken against a plain, light-coloured background with no shadows or reflections
• Natural skin tones with balanced brightness and contrast

Glasses and Head Coverings

• Glasses: no tinted lenses or flash reflections; frames must not cover eyes
• Head coverings allowed only for religious reasons, but the full face must be visible

If the submitted photograph does not meet these specifications, the application will be deemed incomplete and the applicant will be required to provide a compliant photo before the application can proceed.
