National Visa

Documents Required

All documents must be submitted in original + copy, and any non-English/French/German/Italian documents must be accompanied by certified translations into one of these languages.

Application Form

• Completed and signed Schengen visa application form
• A separate form is required for each applicant, including children

Passport

• Original passport issued within the last 10 years
• Valid for at least 3 months beyond intended departure from the Schengen Area
• Must contain at least two blank pages

UK Residency

• Provide a UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code.

Photographs

• Two recent passport-sized photos (35 x 45 mm) with plain light background
• No filters or digital editing; undamaged and not older than 6 months

Proof of Relationship

For Spouses:

• Original marriage certificate (with certified translation if applicable)
• Copy of Swiss national’s passport or national ID

For Civil Partners:

• Original civil partnership certificate or equivalent, with translation if needed
• Copy of Swiss national’s passport or ID

For Children under 18:

• Birth certificate naming the Swiss parent (with translation if needed)
• Copy of the Swiss national parent’s passport or ID

Proof of Finance

• Recent UK bank statements for the last 3 months in the applicant’s name
• Minimum balance reflecting at least CHF 100 per day of stay
• Alternatively, a formal guarantee (“déclaration de prise en charge”) issued by the cantonal authority in Switzerland may be submitted

Proof of Travel

• Confirmed return travel reservation (flight, ferry, or train)
• For travel between Schengen countries, include all transport reservations

Proof of Accommodation

• Confirmed hotel reservation covering entire stay

OR

• Invitation letter from the Swiss host, dated within 30 days, with their address, contact details, and a copy of their passport or Swiss residence permit

OR

• Formal obligation letter issued by Swiss cantonal authorities

Travel Health Insurance

• Minimum coverage of €30,000 for medical emergencies and repatriation
• Must be valid in all Schengen countries and cover the full travel duration
• Insurance must mention applicant’s full name and dates of coverage

Proof of Address in the UK

• A recent utility bill, bank statement, council tax letter, or similar (dated within 30 days)

If Sponsored by a Swiss Family Member

• Marriage or birth certificate (with certified translation if applicable)
• Copy of sponsor’s passport or residence permit
• Proof of the sponsor’s financial capacity and employment in Switzerland
• Written declaration of support from the sponsor

For Minors (If Applicable)

• Application form signed by both parents
• Child’s birth certificate
• Copies of both parents’ passports
• Letter of consent from parents (if travelling without one or both)
• Child’s school certificate (if applicable)

Photo Specifications

• Provide one recent colour photograph (taken within the last 6 months).
• The background must be light (white or off-white) to ensure facial features are clearly visible.
• The photo must be of high clarity, with the face fully in focus.
• The image must show a neutral expression with the full face visible.
• No smiling, no sunglasses, and no hats or caps are permitted.
• Head coverings are only allowed for religious or cultural reasons, but the face must be fully visible.
• The photo must be printed on standard photographic paper (camera print).
• Attach the photograph to the visa application form using a paper clip (do not glue or staple).

If the submitted photograph does not meet these specifications, the application will be deemed incomplete and the applicant.
