National Visa

Documents Required

All documents must be recent (within 30 days) and submitted as originals with photocopies. Any non-English/French/German/Italian documents must be submitted with certified translations.

Application Form

• Completed and signed long-stay (Type D) visa application form
• Separate form required for each applicant, including dependents

Passport

• Must be issued within the last 10 years
• Valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended period of stay
• Must contain at least two blank pages

UK Residency

• Provide a UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code.

Photographs

• Two recent passport-sized photos, 35 x 45 mm
• Plain background, no digital alterations

Contractual & Employer Documents

• Contract for works or services between your non-EU employer and the Swiss client
• Detailed service schedule or assignment letter
• Employer’s declaration outlining your role, qualifications, and assignment terms
• Pre-approval (if available) from Swiss authorities (SECO or Cantonal Migration Office)

Proof of Health Insurance

• Comprehensive health insurance valid in Switzerland for the full duration of stay
• Must include applicant’s name and dates of coverage
• Coverage must meet or exceed Swiss public health insurance standards

Professional Curriculum Vitae

• Updated CV showing academic and professional background relevant to the service provided

Proof of Qualifications (If Applicable)

• For regulated professions (e.g., medical, legal, architecture), submit proof of qualification
• Provide recognition confirmation from the relevant Swiss professional body (if applicable)

Accommodation

• Confirmed rental agreement or proof of accommodation in Switzerland
• Address and contact details must be included

Additional Documents for Accompanying Family Members (If Applicable)

• Separate application form for each family member
• Valid passport and UK residency proof for each dependent
• Two biometric passport-sized photos per applicant
• Marriage certificate (for spouses) or birth certificate (for children)
• Certified translations if not in English, German, French or Italian

Photo Specifications

• Provide two recent colour photograph (taken within the last 6 months).
• The background must be light (white or off-white) to ensure facial features are clearly visible.
• The photo must be of high clarity, with the face fully in focus.
• The image must show a neutral expression with the full face visible.
• No smiling, no sunglasses, and no hats or caps are permitted.
• Head coverings are only allowed for religious or cultural reasons, but the face must be fully visible.
• The photo must be printed on standard photographic paper (camera print).
• Attach the photograph to the visa application form using a paper clip (do not glue or staple).

If the submitted photograph does not meet these specifications, the application will be deemed incomplete and the applicant.
