National Visa

Documents Required

All documents must be recent (within 30 days) and submitted as originals with photocopies. Any non-English/French/German/Italian documents must be submitted with certified translations.

Application Form

• Completed and signed Schengen visa application form
• Separate form required for each applicant

Passport

• Must be issued within the last 10 years
• Valid for at least 3 months after departure from the Schengen Area
• Must contain at least two blank pages

UK Residency

• Provide a UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code.

Photographs

• Two recent, passport-sized photographs (35 x 45 mm)
• Plain light background, no edits or filters

Proof of Economic Activity

For Employees:

• Signed employment contract or secondment letter stating the nature, duration, and terms of engagement

For Freelancers / Self-Employed:

• Contract with Swiss client stating duration, services, and fees
• Additional supporting documents like portfolio, client correspondence, or company registration (if applicable)

For Interns:

• Internship agreement with Swiss organisation, including role description and duration

Proof of Finance

• UK bank statements for the past 3 months, in applicant’s name
• Minimum balance must reflect CHF 100 per day of stay
• Alternatively, a formal guarantee (“Déclaration de prise en charge”) issued by Swiss cantonal authorities

Proof of Travel

• Confirmed return travel reservation (airline/train/ferry)
• If travelling within multiple Schengen countries, provide complete itinerary

Travel Health Insurance

• Minimum coverage of €30,000 for emergency medical expenses and repatriation
• Valid for all Schengen member states and for the full travel duration

Accommodation

• Confirmed hotel booking covering full period of stay

OR

• Invitation letter from Swiss host (if staying at a private residence) with host’s ID and proof of address

Additional Documents (If Applicable)

• Pay slips for the last three months (for employed applicants)
• For service providers or contractors:
  • Additional documentation such as work order, project scope, or confirmation from Swiss partner
  • Pre-approval from Swiss labour authorities (if applicable)

Photo Specifications

• Provide one recent colour photograph (taken within the last 6 months).
• The background must be light (white or off-white) to ensure facial features are clearly visible.
• The photo must be of high clarity, with the face fully in focus.
• The image must show a neutral expression with the full face visible.
• No smiling, no sunglasses, and no hats or caps are permitted.
• Head coverings are only allowed for religious or cultural reasons, but the face must be fully visible.
• The photo must be printed on standard photographic paper (camera print).
• Attach the photograph to the visa application form using a paper clip (do not glue or staple).

If the submitted photograph does not meet these specifications, the application will be deemed incomplete and the applicant.
